Hello, Sinag-tala Family. We’d like to remind everyone that many State employees still have a great, easy opportunity to support the Sinag-tala Filipino Theater and Performing Arts Association by way of regular payroll deductions through the 2009 CA State Employees Charitable Campaign.
We urge State employees who have not yet made their pledges to check with their Human Resources department now about participating in the CSECC. For your reference, the SFTPAA’s CSECC ID # is 2344. Our profile appears on page 225 of the 2009 CSECC Directory as follows:

Description: Provides free theater, performing and cultural arts training to undeserved children, teens and adults regardless of ethnicity, age or economic background.
No school or mainstream arts programs in the entire Sacramento Valley region does what we do. We deliver the arts to children, teenagers and families who are not effectively reached by mainstream arts programs due to racial, ethnic, economic and other barriers.
But it requires donors of all levels to maintain our volunteer-driven programs. Our budget is relatively small for a theater company and yet the costs for venue and rehearsal space rentals, light and sound rentals, costumes, sets, materials, props, storage, transportation and supplies keep going up.
Whether you are a State employee or not, please help us with a generous tax-deductible contribution. Visit www.sinagtala.org for more information. Have a wonderful Holiday Season! Marami pong salamat, at mabuhay po kayo!

Hi, everyone! This is just to remind you that we’re finally taking a break from all the seriousness that goes on at rehearsals. Tomorrow night, we kick back for a change. Dine, sing (or listen) and have fun with other company members, families and friends – including kids – at Tambayan Restaurant on Stockton Blvd. and Elsie (next to the Chevron Gas Station).
From 6:00PM to 8:30PM only, the Tambayan management is offering special combo dinners as low as $6.99 per plate just for special Sinag-tala folks, and a portion of the sales will be donated to the SFTPAA! Then there’s karaoke too! How much better can it get?
If you need information, contact Production Manager Raul Bernaldez at raulbernaldez@aol.com or SFTPAA President Dick Mazon at dtmazon49@sbcglobal.net .
See you at the party!

Putting together the professional-quality and unique show that so many have enjoyed for the past 18 years involves major spending for venue rentals, light and sound equipment, insurance, marketing, sets, costumes and other critical production needs. It is only with your caring and help that we are able to do it every year. Your appreciation and support for Filipino-American performing arts and theatre has brought us this far. Please help us grow, help us today. If you need more information, you may reach us at sftpaa@aol.com . Marami pong salamat.
Sincerely,
Dick Mazon, President

Sinag-tala 2007: A Theatrical RevueSM
Hi, everyone. This is just a reminder that at 7PM on Monday, July 30, we will be holding our first production meeting for Sinag-tala 2007: A Theatrical Revue at the Sinag-tala Studio, 8275 Florin Road, Suite 180.
Who should attend? Everyone who wants this year’s show to be the enormous success it should be. Parents, volunteers, performers, families. As a production staff member, you won’t need to commit a huge chunk of time if you really can’t. As Aristotle (or maybe someone else) once said, a little is always better than nothing. The main thing is we need a lot of hands, whether you’ve volunteered before or not. If you haven’t done so already, please plan to attend and confirm via e-mail that you’ll be there. Thank you all so much.
Strictly for the curious, here’s a link to some some stuff the marketing team has put together for this year. It’s just for starters – if you can help with the rest, that would stupendous. See you on Monday!
